‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Brings in $1 Billion Globally in 12 Days

Huge news! This week, Star Wars: The Force Awakens broke another record. With the film out for a little over a week and a half, it globally brought in $1 billion.

In only a matter of 12 days, the franchise beat previous record holder, Jurassic World. According to Box Office Mojo, the record was set at 13 days.

The film reeled in $247 million domestically in just a matter of three days. With the holiday week now behind us, audience goers continue to hit theaters.

Global income is said to increase even more on January 9, as the film is set to be released in China. Some are anxiously waiting to see if the film will out beat Titanic ($2.2 billion) and Avatar ($2.8 billion).
