DAPs Magic ~ Spud Wars: Attack of the Taters

Darth Tater stood their laughing; two mice lead this rebellion he had been working to squash. The more he thought about it, the more humorous the situation became. Two mice and all their furry friends were all that was between him and taking control of this place known as Disneyland. He headed towards the Tiki Room and suddenly Darth Tater felt a chill run through his skin as two words flew through his mind in a vision…Ewoks and Wookies…He wasn’t exactly sure what they were but from his vision he knew that they were furry and they were a foe to be reckoned with. He wished he could get a clearer vision of who or what they were but everything was fuzzy . . .suddenly he realized that it wasn’t just the vision that was fuzzy but also everything around him!

It felt like the world was spinning around him and suddenly as things became clearer Darth Tater started to wonder if perhaps the world really had spun around him. The light had changed, the temperature changed, Darth Tater was completely disoriented. He stumbled as he felt the ground change under him. He quickly drew his light saber out and prepared to fry whatever it was that was attacking him.

As things came into focus Darth Tater realized he really wasn’t at Disneyland anymore! Behind him he found a strange statue that looked like it could be a part of theTiki Room. Nothing else around him resembled anything that was familiar however. He looked at the sign in front of him and wondered if he were at some place called Easter Island. If it were an island, it was an awfully big one! He continued to ponder his predicament and decided wherever he was, he needed to see if he had any allies nearby. He suddenly felt a presence that was familiar. It was his Spud Trooper! Darth Tater was very pleased to see him and now felt ready to conquer whatever should come across his path!

The first thing Darth Tater saw as they started exploring their new surroundings was a terrifying creature. As he approached it, little kids squealed in fear and ran scattering yelling “shark!” Now Darth Tater did not know what a shark was but as he watched it he realized that there was a whole new world to conquer. An underwater world. . .”there is lots of water at Disneyland, this shark could come in handy!” He laughed maniacally with Spud Trooper as all the possibilities ran through his mind.

The next body of water they came across in their wanderings showed a bunch of fish. “These serve no purpose, I’d like to see what the shark could do with them!” Darth Tater exclaimed. “No wonder nobody is watching them… Put the shark in, that’ll give people something to look at! Nobody can resist watching the dark side in action!” Quickly tiring of this Darth Tater said, “come on Spud Trooper, lets find something darker!” They moved on to see what else they could find…hopefully it would be something darker . . .

. . .and something darker they found indeed! It was giant and black and menacing and Darth Tater felt the power of the dark side rising inside him! “This is perfect! With one of these and a shark, the waters of Disneyland will never be the same again!” Spud Trooper grinned as he noticed more sharks in the water and realized things could get even more interesting. They moved on to discover what other horrors could be found in this watery wonderland.

But instead of finding more fish, they found birds…lots and lots of birds. Darth Tater didn’t know what to make of them. He had heard a couple talking at Disneyland though about a movie about birds that attacked people so Darth Tater quietly approached a bird. “Would you like to join my alliance to defeat Disneyland?” he asked the nearest bird. “Squeerch Squeeeeeeerch” the bird replied. Darth Tater looked at the bird puzzled as the bird repeated itself, “Squeerch Squeeeeeeerch!”

The bird took a step closer and Darth Tater raised his light saber and asked, “Are you with the dark or the light side of the force?” Again the bird replied “Squeerch Squeeeeeeerch!” Darth Tater did not know how to react. He could not sense which side the bird was on and suddenly realized where the term ‘bird brain’ came from. There wasn’t enough upstairs in the bird for him to feel. He did not like being in this predicament.

He liked the predicament even less when he looked to his left and realized there were more of these little green birds surrounding him! All of them saying, “Squeerch Squeeeeeeerch!” What was wrong with these animals? He slowly backed away from them as they followed him down the path crying, “Squeerch Squeeeeeeerch.” “Spud Trooper! We’re leaving! We clearly aren’t going to find help here!” he yelled as they made a beeline away from the birds. Thoroughly shaken, Darth Tater and Spud Trooper went looking for more animals that were clearly on the dark side of the force. “We’ll have to stick with the underwater animals here it seems” Darth Tater mumbled as they wandered towards the a giant body of water with the most fascinating, and potentially dangerous, creature Darth Tater had yet to encounter on his adventures on earth!
