The Romulans Are Coming!

I like Star Trek. I’m an unapologetic fan. I like all that Star Trek stands for and its hope for a better future. In an increasingly cynical world, I like that Star Trek has always had the dream of a better tomorrow. It definitely has had its failures through the years but I stick with this like I stick with my baseball team… the Mariners. Yes, I know they aren’t that great but they are my team and a true fan sticks with their team, show, or hero no matter what.

Back to Star Trek. My friend Eric is a very talented artist and also a fan of Star Trek. He runs a really cool blog and this morning I found a link sent to me that was entitled Romunlans! I of course had to check this out and so should you. He drew some Romulans and they are incredible. I don’t say this just because I can’t draw. Because even though I can’t do that, I definitely can appreciate art and have learned a lot through the years. I’m not a guru by any respects but I have definitely learned to appreciate art and the talent and inspiration that goes into making it.

What is that? You want to know where you can see this magnificent work? Well the name of his blog is The Ol’ Sketchbook. For the precise post I’m talking about you can go here: http://ericscalessketchbook.blogspot.com/2011/04/romulans.html

While you are checking out those Romulans, take a look around at the other stuff he has. He has a really good interview there with Disney watch artist Dave Smith, among other things. He also has some amazing sketches and doodles that are quite enjoyable to look at as well. Hope you enjoy his stuff as much as I do!

Make it a GREAT day!
