Things I Love Thursday: Disney Style

Hey everyone! Welcome to this week’s Things I Love Thursday: Disney Style! This week’s blog discusses some of my favorite Disney Sci-Fi things. This is of course because DAPs is co-hosting a Sci-Fi event this weekend at Gotham City Comics and Coffee. While it might be difficult to associate Disney with Science Fiction, it definitely is possible and I figured why not share some of my favorites with you all! I promise this won’t be dominated by TRON either!

Star Tours: The Adventure Continues- I was very apprehensive going into this ride. While on the one hand I am a huge Star Tours fan but on the other I am diehard fan for the original attraction. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by how much I actually enjoyed the attraction. As much as I missed Rex, C3PO was quite entertaining. I am definitely looking forward to future trips so I can visit other worlds and see other parts of the ride.

Robots Vinylmation- When it comes to vinylmations I tend to be very selective on which series I will collect. At first, I was not a huge fan of the Robot Series, but after getting a few and seeing the amount of detail I was in love. Originally Chief Engineer Smith was the one gung ho for them, but lately it has been me. Unfortunately we are about 4 away from completing the set (we do have the chaser) but The Disney Store has been out of them! Hopefully they will get more soon and we can complete our set!

John Carter- I thought about mentioning John Carter a few weeks back when I wrote about some of my favorite things in the Walt Disney but figured it would be better suited here. I am very excited for this movie. From what I have seen so far, it looks like it will be pretty great. Also, for all of you comic fans out there, Disney is putting out John Carter comics!

Wall-E- Who doesn’t love Wall-E? Wall-E is definitely my favorite robot and one of my favorite Pixar movies. The fact that I could fall in love with a robot who hardly spoke was an amazing feat! If you haven’t check out Wall-E yet you should!

I hope everyone enjoyed this week’s random cross section of Science Fiction in the Disney realm. In gearing up for Devastation, next week’s TILT will feature some of favorite video game topics pertaining to Disney. It is going to be EPIC, no pun intended!

Have a Magical Day!
