A Long Time Ago on a Television Far Far Away… Maybe Not… Maybe just on Google!

 

46 years ago today the world was introduced to a new era… the era where men traveled through the stars, shot out laser beams, beamed themselves to and from planets, and did so aboard a ship named Enterprise. 46 years ago today NBC aired the first regular episode of what was then called Star Trek and is now called Star Trek: The Original Series (TOS). This series was the brain child of Gene Roddenberry who had high hopes for the future of humanity. He had the dream of what amazing things could be in store for the future of mankind.

The first episode of Star Trek was The Man Trap. It started a long legacy of television shows and movies that continue on to this day. On THIS day in particular (46 years later), Google has chosen to honor this legendary crew with their doodle of the day. Here it is:
