Paperman – Full Animated Short Film – Is Here!

paperman

One of the highlights for me last year in the animated world was getting to see Paperman. This six and a half minute short is absolutely precious. I love the choices that were made stylistically in regards to color, animation style, story, and music. It has to be one of my favorite shorts that has been released in recent years. Now, Walt Disney Animation Studios has released it on youtube! You can see it right here on DAPs Magic Geeks Corner:

So what do you think?

I love any story that takes me on a journey. To do this, it has to be relatable at some level. If this is done effectively, it can suspend disbelief and take my imagination and heart to new places. Paperman does just that. I’d love to hear what you thought of Paperman. Let’s have a conversation below!

Make it a GREAT day!

Paperman Description:

Introducing a groundbreaking technique that seamlessly merges computer-generated and hand-drawn animation techniques, first-time director John Kahrs takes the art of animation in a bold new direction with the Oscar®-nominated short, “Paperman.” Using a minimalist black-and-white style, the short follows the story of a lonely young man in mid-century New York City, whose destiny takes an unexpected turn after a chance meeting with a beautiful woman on his morning commute. Convinced the girl of his dreams is gone forever, he gets a second chance when he spots her in a skyscraper window across the avenue from his office. With only his heart, imagination and a stack of papers to get her attention, his efforts are no match for what the fates have in store for him. Created by a small, innovative team working at Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Paperman” pushes the animation medium in an exciting new direction.

I was just getting ready to share this myself. Although I could not find it on YouTube. So I shared your page to it. This short is absolutely amazing. I listen to the music several times a day on my PC and iPhone!
