In February, DAPs Magic member Jen went on a tour of the Disney Dream Suite in New Orleans Square in Disneyland. This tour of apartment that was once planned as an apartment for Walt Disney himself. He had planned "The Royale Suite" as a place to host VIPs away from his small apartment above the Firehouse on Main Street. This project was cancelled by Roy Disney after Walt's death on December 15, 1966. The Disney Dream Suite includes a living room, open air patio, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. It was remodeled with Disney Imagineers to closely follow the original plans by Dorothea Redmond (set designer of Gone with the Wind). The Disney Dream Suite is a 2,600 square foot space that previously housed the Disney Gallery from July 11, 1987 to August 7, 2007. We hope you enjoy these pictures and many thanks go out to Jen for taking them for us! |
