Disneyland's 52nd Birthday - July 17, 2007

On July 17, 2007 Disneyland celebrated its 52nd Birthday. After the flag retreat at around 4:45 a ceremony was held in Town Square on the steps of Main Street Train Station. It was hosted by Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Mary Poppins, Bert, Alice, the Mad Hatter, and moderated by the Mayor of Main Street.

The ceremony was accompanied by the Disneyland All-American College Band who played Disney classics such as the Mickey Mouse March, When You Wish Upon a Star, and many other Disney classics.

The ceremony itself highlighted the magic and memories of Disneyland along with an audio playing of Walt Disney giving his opening day speech. No Disney big whigs appeared to be present other than Mickey Mouse and the rest of the gang. It was however a touching, if small, ceremony.

Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America...with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”
