I know there are some who say that Pixar is taking over the park. So what! The Pixar characters are as endearing as some of Disney’s original characters and they come alive in this latest offering at Disney’s California Adventure park.
I won’t go into specifics here but I can tell you that Disney has a hit on their hands. The float unit’s are imaginative and charming. The costumes of the “humans” are inventive and colorful. The elements like the bubbles and water are surprising and wonderful. And you can expect to get wet!
Some of my favorite elements were the free-standing, or in this case, free-rolling, Roz from Monster’s Inc. She glides down the parade route, twirling a baton and is festooned with a brightly colored feather on her hat.
I loved the Incredibles unit, with Mr. Incredible, Elastic Girl, and Frozone all riding hover crafts. The Bug’s Life unit is where you get the wettest. And it’s filled with swinging bugs and humans. The Ratatouille and Toy Story units both include acrobatics that were exciting.
All in all, the kids will love it, and the child in all of us will love this new parade.
I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. - Kevin |
