New Star Wars Live-Action TV Series Coming to Disney Streaming Service

During a call with investors, Disney CEO and Chairman Bob Iger announced that there will be a new live-action Star Wars tv show. This new show will be arriving on the yet-unnamed Disney streaming service. Iger also announced that a tv series will be coming to the platform based on the Disney-Pixar film Monsters, Inc. A tv series will also be developed around High School Musical as well as a new Marvel tv show. Details on all of these shows at this point are unknown.

The Disney streaming service is currently scheduled to be available for subscribers to purchase in the United States starting in 2019. It will include Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars films. The size of this library of properties should be quite substantial. It will also include a multitude of television programs that The Walt Disney Company owns.

This news comes after the announcement that Rian Johnson will be developing a new Star Wars trilogy. Starting in 2019, all new movies produced by The Walt Disney Company will be going on this new streaming service so it can be concluded that these new films will be offered there as well.
