The Walt Disney Company Donates $500,000 to Those Impacted by California Wildfires

The Walt Disney Company has announced that it will be donating $500,000 to those impacted by the recent California wildfires. The money will go to both relief efforts and also recovery efforts regarding the wildfires that continue to threaten California. The money will also go to support firefighters efforts as well.

“The firefighters are true heroes, and we honor their tireless commitment as they continue to battle these devastating wildfires,” said Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger. “Our hearts go out to the families and communities that have been so severely affected.”

The donations from Disney will be given to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund. This organization supports both immediate and long-term recovery efforts from major wildfires. It also supports preparedness efforts. Money will also be directed to the California Fire Foundation. This organization provides emotional and financial assistance to firefighters, their families and the communities they protect.

On top of the donation from The Walt Disney Company, Disney cast members can contribute to eligible relief and recovery organizations and will have their donations matched by Disney Employee Matching Gifts: A Program of The Walt Disney Company Foundation.
