Tom Hanks and Tim Allen Wrap Emotional Final Scenes as Iconic Pixar Characters

I’m one of those people that grew up with the Toy Story franchise and was around the same age as Andy. I was in elementary school when Toy Story came out, and in college when Toy Story 3 came out. As Andy grew up, it felt like I was growing up with him and going through similar experiences. Toy Story 3 is one of those films that still makes me cry at the end every time. It culminated the trilogy but also felt like you were saying goodbye to your childhood at the same time.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t super crazy about the idea of Toy Story 4. Like many other fans, I thought the ending of Toy Story 3 was the perfect send-off for our favorite toys. Over the last few months, we’ve seen some teasers for Toy Story 4, which is due for theatrical release on June 21st. The more teasers I see (and the fact that Bo Peep is back!), the more I get excited!

Toy Story 4 follows our favorite toys: Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang on an adventuresome road trip. We’ll meet new friends, like Forky, Bunny, and Ducky, and see the return of Bo Peep. While we’re about 5 months away from seeing this film, its stars have hinted an emotional culmination of this franchise. Yesterday, both Tom Hanks and Tom Allen posted that they finished recording their final scenes of the two iconic characters. Tom Hanks has a more lighthearted post, including a photo with part of the Pixar team. From the looks of it, they had a lot of fun working on this film. Tim Allen’s tweet was a little more bittersweet, leaving fans expecting an emotional ending to this franchise. It’s been almost 25 years that they’ve played these beloved characters, and we hope they get a proper sendoff.
