The 2019 CHOC Walk in the Park will be coming to the Disneyland Resort on August 11th and team DAPS MAGIC will be walking through the parks to make a difference! This is always one of the most fun events of the year. Thousands of people come together to go to the Disneyland Resort and raise money for Children’s Hospital of Orange County! If you haven’t joined a team yet, now is a great time to join team DAPS MAGIC. Here are five reasons you should join our team!

Make a Difference – When you walk on team DAPS MAGIC for CHOC Walk, you are helping raise funds for new programs, hospital wings, and better health for the children who visit CHOC. Quite often these visits are life-changing and life-saving. By raising money for CHOC and walking, you get to help children have a chance a life they wouldn’t be able to have if it weren’t for the hospital. They truly are getting a future where they may not have one otherwise.
Make Memories – Walking through the Disneyland Resort during CHOC Walk is a memorable experience. The walk starts off with an opening ceremony where all in attendance get to see the CHOC Walk Ambassador and their family. This year the ambassador is Ella Boyle of the Boyle Family. She fought cancer at CHOC and was provided care that went beyond medical care. She was able to face medical uncertainties but still be a child thanks to the team at CHOC. She is one of the thousands of reasons, each reason a kid, that we walk in CHOC Walk. The opening ceremony usually includes some Disney friends as well.
Raise Awareness – While thousands of people will walk and raise funds for CHOC during the CHOC Walk, thousands more have never heard of it. For every person who walks, they will raise funds and also awareness about CHOC and the walk. This leads to more awareness and leads to more support. It also leads to connections that can do both of these things as well. With both of these things, the world can literally be changed. Wouldn’t it be great to be a part of making CHOC even better than it is now?
Friendships – One of the side benefits of walking in the CHOC Walk each year are the friendships that grow and develop throughout the process. Through fundraisers leading up to the walk, the actual CHOC Walk itself, and then the efforts after, friendships are built that last a lifetime. CHOC Walk attracts incredible people who want to make the world a better place. These are great people to be friends with! And these friends are great people to go out and make a difference with (especially on team DAPS MAGIC!)
Fun – At the end of the day, team DAPS MAGIC has a LOT of fun at the CHOC Walk. First off, we all wear hats. They can be trilbys, Disney hats, other fun hats, or baseball hats. However, we like to all wear hats together and show how we are making a difference! We also like to just have a blast on the day of knowing that we are making a difference and getting to go to Disneyland at the same time! As my good friend Tom says, “if you’re not having fun, you’re done!” DAPS MAGIC is all about having fun and making a difference while doing it!
