Sunday Recap Report – A Park Hopping Adventure

It was another warm and fun July Sunday at Disneyland! My day started off with the obligatory train station photo! I sometimes get asked why I take this photo, and it’s because the train station welcomes guests to Disneyland everyday! It’s a place of joy and happiness, and that’s what we need more of in our world! And Disneyland is the perfect escape from our everyday life.

After entering Disneyland, I headed to Coke Corner for a cream cheese filled pretzel and used my refillable AP tumbler. The AP refillable tumblers are still available, and can be refilled at many quick service locations at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Tumblers are $14.99, $16.15 after tax, and no discount applies during initial purchase. They are not refillable in Downtown Disney or any of the Disneyland Resort Hotels.

After enjoying a snack, I made my way back down Main Street, and I ran into my friends Nathan and Johnny. We chatted for a bit in the Opera House lobby checking out the Haunted Mansion 50th anniversary exhibit. I then met up with Mr. DAPs, Caitie, and Jenny In Disneyana. Shortly after, we headed to Market House Starbucks for some refreshing drinks! I got a guava white tea lemonade, and it was very flavorful and much needed!

We then headed towards ‘it’s a small world’ for some DAPsCaf photos, and to wait for the Mickey and Friends Band-Tastic Cavalcade. It’s a fun little show with the Disneyland Band, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Chip, Dale, and many other Disney characters! You just never know who you will get to see! This cavalcade runs through Thursday, August 1, so be sure to check it out!

After watching the Band-Tasting Cavalcade, we made our way to the Edge of the Galaxy. While there, we saw Kylo Ren walking with Stormtroopers. It’s always best to try to stay away from Kylo Ren. He’s very intimidating! And of course, you can’t go into Galaxy’s Edge without taking at least one photo of the Millennium Falcon!

We spent some time in the Black Spire Outpost before heading to Disney California Adventure. We sat at Smokejumpers Grill for awhile before going to Carthay Circle to watch the Red Car Trolley News Boys sans Trolley. Their run at Disney California Adventure ends this week. And while waiting for the News Boys, we saw Five & Dime. They are always entertaining, and it’s always fun when Goofy joins the group and dances with Dime!

We stayed at Carthay Circle after the Five & Dime Show ended, and saw the News Boys one last time. And of course, it’s always fun when Mickey himself joins the show! Mickey has a dream like we all do, and it’s great to see how his dream has come to life!

Following some fun and entertainment and Disney California Adventure, we headed back to Disneyland for Mickey and the Magical Map! This is one of my shows, and it’s always fun to watch! My favorite scenes are the opening, the princess scene, and the finale. Plus the music is fun throughout the entire show.

After Mickey and the Magical Map, we park hopped back to Disney California Adventure for dinner. We ate at the Wharf area because there are plenty of options. We got food from Lucky Fortune Cookery. I got the kids meal and edamame, and I refilled my AP tumbler. The kids meal at Lucky Fortune Cookery consists of a small box of brown rice with chicken, a cutie orange, applesauce, and a drink. Anyone can order from the kids menu at quick service locations. It’s always a good option when not wanting to eat a lot or when you want something light.

After dinner, we headed to Paradise Park to see Tale of The Lion King. The live-action Lion King debuted in theaters this weekend, so it was nice seeing this show. And after the show ended, we met some DAPS MAGIC fans from Northern California! It was definitely fun to meet them, and they enjoy the site and videos, which is always nice to hear!

So guess what we did after watching Tale of The Lion King?! You guessed it – we went back to Disneyland! And we did something that we hadn’t done in awhile. We took a grand circle tour of Disneyland on the Disneyland Railroad! It’s such a relaxing ride, and the sights along the way are definitely some of my favorites.

Some of our group parted ways after the grand circle tour, but Mr. DAPs, Caitie, and I headed back into Disneyland. It was about 8:45pm, and we decided to head to ‘it’s a small world.’ It was a relaxing cruise as always, and it’s my favorite Disneyland attraction, so a happy cruise around the world made the day even better! And along the way, I took some photos of Fantasyland! I love the lighting on the backside of the Castle, and it made for a great photo!

We were finally at ‘it’s a small world.’ Having a front seat made for some great photos, and I can never take enough photos of this attraction!

After a cruise around the world, we made our way back to Main Street and out of Disneyland. It was yet another fun Sunday at the Parks with great friends! That’s the best part about hanging out at Disneyland! Go with great friends, and you will always have the best time ever!

We will see where our adventures take us next week! It might be a bit windy, but we shall see! Have a great week!
