We just can’t wait for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to open! We will all get our chance to take on the First Order on December 5 at Walt Disney World and January 17 at Disneyland Park. This attraction is one of the most highly anticipated of all time and we are excited to share some new details with you!

This attraction will blend the lines between fantasy and reality as you join the Resistance for this galactic mission. When guests step aboard, they will be asked to meet General Organa so they can assist the Resistance. Along the way, guests are intercepted by the First Order in a Star Destroyer and things only escalate.

Kylo Ren isn’t thrilled to hear about the escape and will do everything he can to stop your pod of guests. As you attempt to make your escape, you will see the infamous red lightsaber come through the ceiling. This footage was seen this weekend at D23 Expo and from what we’ve heard out of the media preview in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, everything in the sneak peek lives up to expectations. You can see video from the Parks, Experiences and Products Panel below.

This attraction is regarded as one of the most immersive and incredible experiences that Disney has ever created. We can’t wait until Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance firsthand and see AT-ATs and Stormtroopers in person! The most incredible thing about all of this news? The photo below is not a computer recreation, it is a photo from the inside of this Imagineering feat.

Rise of the Resistance

RISE OF THE RESISTANCE — Disney guests will traverse the corridors of a Star Destroyer and join an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance – including a face-off with Kylo Ren – when Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens Dec. 5, 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Jan. 17, 2020 at Disneyland Resort in California. At 14 acres each, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Disney’s largest single-themed land expansion ever. (Joshua Sudock/Disney Parks)
